After all the things that that I have done,
it is time to focus on UX Design.
My primary goal is to develop optimized and comprehensive data interfaces to accelerate medical and scientific research. I am not there yet but I have a path. The path will also be strewn with entertaining and useful side-projects.
Data science, AI, AR, VR are still quite new and lack the interfaces to truly astound its users in terms of data consumption, filtering, organizing, and scrutinizing.
I have ideas and concepts stuck between my ears that I need to get out to share and refine so they can become useful to enabling humanity to explore worlds. Fermi Paradox be damned.
When off my lofty high horse, I desire to create tools and interfaces that respect and educate the user. I want to address the issues that oft frustrate myself and other users when software seems to ignore common sense, fault tolerance, or edge cases that happen too frequently. I want to work on UX that removes barriers to data and control that the user should already possess.
High tech UX displays in film media and art is incredibly inspiring. It just needs to be made useful and applied. It needs to be more than just engaging, it needs to further a cause.

- Respect the User. Do NOT foolishly distract, attack, or insult the User. Do not give him puzzles that force him to think or search for places to safely click or swipe.
- Ideas need to simmer. Good ideas oft need to dwell in the designers lobes as he does other unrelated activities. Over time, good ideas can become great ideas.
- Technology begs Polish. It is never finished and done. Stagnation shows and erodes user satisfaction.
- Technology is NOT just for the masses. Seniors and such have trouble operating basic functions on websites and smart phones. Ever try explaining to a senior that you have to swipe-UP and then enter a secret code. And there are those who want more from their software. Something more sophisticated. Have browsers really changed much since 1999?

I am working at FedEx for now while I update my skills and find opportunity. Despite many obstacles and distractions, I remain optimistic that I shall overcome.
I used to be a full-time, unpaid caregiver, for 10 years. My professional and financial standing have not yet recovered.
I taught myself to be a front-end and back-end developer. I built some cool stuff with ASP, ActionScript, PHP, Javascript, CSS, Python. Dabbled in data science, ElasticSearch.
I almost finished an MBA. I know “almost” doesn’t cut it but there was this girl…
I used to be a scientist. I would occasionally do things I was told was not possible.
I used to work for the government.
